Here are some pics from my GoKart racing days. The guy behind me cheated on a re-start following a crash & I never could catch him again. Starting from Pole, Racing, Leaving Pits, 2nd Place Podium. (Got a speeding ticket in my G35 on my way home from this - see earlier blog!

Go-Kart Racing/Speeding Tickets

We had a team building exercise at work last week. Our entire department and all the remote field/area folks in HES went Go-Kart racing. Way cool stuff. I finished 2nd in the 25 lap main event. Then I got a speeding ticket on the way home. Cop wasn't too impressed with my trophy. He asked if I knew how fast I was going. I said no. He said he paced me at 70 in a 55 zone. I said, "Figures, no wonder I finshed second!" He didn't appreciate that - cops have no sense of humor. Oh well - a big fine and internet driving school awaits.

Home Improvement Crap - Lowe's/Home Depot/Etc.

Geez - bought some new patio furniture the other day, well I tried to anyway.

Spent a month trying to replace a glass tabletop for my existing set that got shattered in a wind storm - no luck. No one carries replacement glass and getting a new one would cost more than a complete new patio set - including chairs, chaise, and umbrella!!! WTF is up with that?

So I bought a completly new patio set - except two of the 4 chairs I needed were out of stock!! Supposedly will be in the store in 4-5 days. (And, No, they won't reserve 2 for me - so I have to call the store up every day now to find out if they came in!)

So I get my table, chaise, umbrella, and 2 chairs (from one of the above stores)and go home to assemble them. Start putting the table together. I'm supposed to have 12 washers - need them to screw in the legs. Guess how many washers they gave me - right, ZERO!!!!!!!!!!WTF!!! So I'm off to a hardware store to buy 12 washers. Get the table put together, then start working on the 2 chairs. Get them done - they look pretty nice, comfortable, but wait. Somethings wrong. I look and notice one is missing 6 plastic spacers that sit on the bottom so the metal base doesn't scrape against the concrete patio. GEEZUZ!!!!!!!! What the hell is wrong with these folks? How hard is it to remember to put all the parts in the box??? And this happens ALL the time at these warehouse home improvement stores. Any of you homeowners, I am sure have similar stories.

Oh well...for once I can't blame sumthin on geeks!!!
